The Future Is Now, Bitches!

Guess who totally went and proved me wrong by making a second album? Why, it's none other than The Futureheads! They even saw fit to add disrespect to the physical damage by making News & Tributes even better than their first album. It's nice to see that British gimmick-rock has some players that can stay for a second period, and use four-part harmony in rock in ways that haven't been done since Queen was around.

For those of you who don't know, Matthew collects different versions of Monopoly, and probably has well over 100 different boards. I recently discovered that the total nuber of officialy licensed friendship-killers (dice included) comes to just under 1000.

And for some of the most beautiful art that I've seen in a while, check out this sand-guy from Korea. No sooner does he create a masterpiece with nothing but his bare hands and sand does he destroy it, only to make another. Coordinating this act to music was also a nice touch.

Today is the last day of the Children's Festival, and it's been a blast volunteering for it. All of the coordinators have been so appreciative, likely due to the fact that they depend on volunteers to return next year. All the same, spending 10 minutes painting a kid's face so his spider-man looks perfect, only to have him jump up and hug you, smearing the paint all over your pants is a pretty awesome experience. I'm kind of sad that the festival has to end now.
